When two of the biggest names in football sit together, news is bound to happen. However, it came much as a surprise when Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his wish to have dinner with his equally impressive - if not better - rival Lionel Messi. Messi and Ronaldo share one of the celebrated rivals in the game of football, similar to the likes of Federer versus Nadal’s and Mohammad Ali versus Joe Frazier. “We shared this stage for 15 years, me and him. I don’t know if this has ever happened in football. The same two guys on the same stage, all the time. So, it’s not easy, as you know. “Of course we have a good relationship. We haven’t had dinner yet, but I hope in the future,” said Ronaldo at the UEFA Awards, with Messi smiling on his side. “We had that battle in Spain. I pushed him and he pushed me as well. So it's good to be part of the history of football.” The two have won the Ballon d’Or five times each, while Ronaldo has won the Champions League five times to Messi’s four.
