Actor-comedian Kevin Hart and two others got severely injured in a car crash in Calabasas, California on Sunday. Hart and the driver, Jared Black, reportedly sustained major back injuries.
The highway patrol report said the car went out of control as it turned from a canyon road on to the highway, smashing through a fence and sending the vehicle rolling down an northern embankment. The report said the driver was not under the influence of alcohol, The Guardian reported.
Hart suffered serious back injuries and is being treated at the Northridge hospital although the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
His car careened down an embankment roughly '10 feet off the road' and smashed into a wooden fence, crushing the roof on impact. The top of the classic ride was completely gone with a smashed windshield on top of a missing hood. Most of the body of the vehicle was still intact despite major dents on the trunk and side doors.
Hart recently bought the new car, a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, as a 40th birthday present to himself earlier this summer.
