Business activities shut in Hyderabad after Bashir Qureshi's death

HYDERABAD: The business and shopping activities as well as educational institutions were closed in Hyderabad on Saturday following the death of Chairman Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) Bashir Khan Qureshi.

Complete closure was observed in Hyderabad Rural and Qasimabad Talukas while business and shopping activities were partly closed in Hyderabad City and Latifabad Talukas of the district.

The educational institutions including schools and colleges, which opened in the morning were later closed and due to non availability of public transport, the students faced great hardship in returning to their homes.

The paper of Secondary School Certificate Part-I of annual examination was also postponed by the Management of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Hyderabad at the time when the male and female candidates had reported to their respective examination centres.

A police spokesman informed that except aerial firing no untoward incident was reported from any part of the district throughout the day.
