The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast intermittent showers in Karachi on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Karachi and other part of Sindh has been receiving moderate to heavy showers on Tuesday afternoon and more rain is expected in the metropolitan under the impact of tropical cyclone Hikaa on Wednesday.
The PMD in a forecast said that rain/wind-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Karachi, Mirpur Khas and Hyderabad divisions in Sindh on Wednesday.
Karachi’s weather turned pleasant from Monday evening as the persisting heat spell broke due to light and heavy showers in various areas.
Karachi on Monday experienced stormy wind and received 20mm rainfall at University Road, 15mm at Jinnah Terminal, 12mm at A/P, 02mm at Surjani Town, while 01mm at Landhi, Nazimabad and Faisal Base under the influence of Arabian Sea Cyclone Hikaa.
PMD director Sardar Sarfaraz told a local media, a tropical depression in the Arabian Sea region has transformed into a storm. The lack of air in the sea has halted the sea breeze, increasing humidity across Karachi. But Karachi isn’t at threat, adding that the storm is heading west and will hit Oman.
