The PPP chairman said they cannot continue to support the PTI-led government. Bilawal maintained, “We will go in every nook and corner of the country to initiate a campaign to derail the government as it failed to come up to the expectations of the people of Pakistan.”

“This is a compromise that Pakistani people cannot tolerate,” the PPP chairman said. He said that while it was important to highlight the human rights violations in occupied Kashmir, the premier should also have talked about UN's resolutions that grant Kashmiri residents the right to self determination.

“Our selected prime minister is being appreciated on our selected media, but those who know about the plight of Kashmiris as well as the history of their struggle, understand that Pakistan's government can play a vital role for our Kashmiri brethren,” Bilawal said. “How many countries has he [prime minister] visited since” Article 370 was repealed, he asked.

He maintained, “No matter how much our selected media and commentators laud and celebrate the premier's speech, Pakistani public does not feel the same passion, they are disappointed.”

He added that the speech at the UN was a pre-scheduled one. “He should have delivered the speech in Kashmir.” He pointed out that the prime minister should have raised the issue of human rights at the UNGA.

“The PM should have laid stress on the fact that Kashmir is a disputed territory. We will continue to raise voice over the issue again and again,” he said.
