Expressing her worry over the massive rise in mass shootings in United States, pop sensation Rihanna shared her concerns over US President Donald Trump's reaction to gun violence, calling him the ‘most mentally ill human in the America’.

In an interview to Vogue, the 31-year-old mogul said that Trump's response to gun violence, which is largely committed at the hands of white men, is racist because he describes it as ‘a mental health problem’ instead of terrorism.

“People are being murdered by war weapons that they legally purchase. This is just not normal. That should never, ever be normal. And the fact that it's classified as something different because of the color of their skin? It's a slap in the face. It's completely racist,” Rihanna said.

“Put an Arab man with that same weapon in that same Walmart and there is no way that Trump would sit there and address it publicly as a mental health problem,” she said and added, “The most mentally ill human being in America right now seems to be the president,” she added.

In the aftermath of mass shootings this summer in El Paso, Texas and in Dayton, Ohio, Trump described the shootings as a tragedy, but also said that ‘mental illness and hatred pulls the trigger — not the gun’. “We must reform our mental health laws to better identify mentally disturbed individuals who may commit acts of violence and make sure those people, not only get treatment, but when necessary, involuntary confinement,” Trump said.
