  • Mehwish says he is looking forward to address issues about girl education and give them a better future.

Amidst all the hatred and criticism, actress Mehwish Hayat has been appointed ‘Goodwill ambassador for girl’s rights’ by Pakistan’s ministry of human rights.

Mehwish made the announcement through her social media. In a short video, the ‘Chhalawa’ actress said she is proud to be appointed as goodwill ambassador and work for girl education and their rights.

“This is something close to me and I look forward to actively raising awareness of the issues to be addressed. Let’s give girls the better future they deserve,” she said.

She further added, “It is an honour for me to play a crucial role in helping girls get their rights. I wish to see a Pakistan where girls are given the opportunities to get education. Let’s give girls the better future they deserve”.

She has also urged her fans to support her in the noble cause.

Her announcement came one day before the International Day of the Girl Child, which is marked on October 11 every year.
