Pakistan top order batsman Babar Azam once again proved his batting prowess, hitting a brilliant century against Sindh at the ongoing National T20 Cup in Faisalabad. Azam’s unbeaten knock of 102 off just 59 deliveries, featuring seven fours and five sixes, proved unsuccessful in taking his side cross the victory line. Sindh still secured a thrilling win over Azam-led Central Punjab by chasing down a 189-run target on the second last delivery of the game played in Iqbal Stadium on Sunday. Khurram Manzoor provided a sound start for Sindh with a 42-ball 50, the Central Punjab were very much in control of the game with Sindh 87 for three in the 12th over. However, Sindh captain Asad Shafiq was determined to chase down the target and with Sarfaraz Ahmed on the other side formed a crucial but brisk partnership of 49 runs off just 20 deliveries. Asad Shafiq and Sarfaraz scored 45 and 30 runs, respectively. In bowling department, Central Punjab’s speedster Waqas Maqsood was the pick of the bowlers grabbing three wickets for 32 runs, whereas, mate Usman Qadir and Faheem Ashraf picked took two wickets each. For Sindh fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain shine with the ball picking two wickets of 32 runs.
