Portuguese goal machine Cristiano Ronaldo reached another career milestone, scoring his 700th career goal against Ukraine in Portugal's Euro 2020 qualifier. The 34-year-old scored a penalty at the 72nd minute of the game as Portugal lost the match 2-1. Ronaldo achieved this feat in his 973rd appearance. The football superstar is now placed sixth on the list of most career goals in football history. The Czech-Austrian player Josef Bican tops the list with 805 career goals. Brazil superstar Romario, who scored 772, is second on the list while his countryman the legendary Pele is placed third with 767 goals. Hungary legend Ferenc Puskas hit 746 goals, while ex-Germany striker Gerd Muller ranks fifth with 735 goals. However, Ronaldo has scored more career goals than any other active player in professional football, with fellow rival superstar and his former La Liga adversary Lionel Messi placed second with 672 goals. Dissecting Ronaldo’d goal tally, the Real Madrid legend scored 450 times for the Spanish giants, with 118 of his 700 goals coming when he represented the Manchester United in his early days. Ronaldo has scored 95 goals for his national Portugal side, 32 goals for Juventus FC and 5 for Sporting CP. As a Messi fan you need to respect and celebrate Ronaldo's feat too 🔥 700 career goals is a BIG deal. Just like Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo is out of this world.
