Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has assured that every possible step will be taken for safeguarding the life and property of the citizens and maintaining peace in the province.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting, held here on Saturday to review law and order situation of the province. Federal Interior Minister Brig Ijaz Shah (retd) also attended the meeting. The participants agreed upon comprehensive liaison between Punjab and Federal government to improve peace in the province.
The CM warned that strict action will be taken against law breaking elements without any discrimination. He directed police to discharge their duties with honestly and wholeheartedly for coping with anti-social elements, as maintaining law and order situation is top priority of the state.
The CM while directing to carry out operation against the criminals without any discrimination, ordered to continue strict checking on the entry and exit points.
The Punjab Chief Secretary, IG Police, Additional Chief Secretary, high authorities of civil and military, Principal Secretary to CM and officers of concerned departments attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the CM took notice of an incident involving torture of children in Okara and sought a report from the DPO Okara. He directed the concern official to apprehend the responsible and take legal action against the responsible. "Justice will be ensured to the affected children and such incidents cannot be tolerated at any cost," he added.
On the direction of the chief minister, the Assistant Commissioner went to the village and met the children. He gave new cloths to the children and expressed sympathies and ensured them justice.
Moreover, the CM took notice of death of a new born infant in DHQ Hafizabad and sought a report from the Punjab Health Minister and Secretary.
