Provincial Minister for Special Education Ch Muhammad Akhlaq has said that under Punjab Intermediate Cities programme a Master Plan is being finalized for providing improved municipal facilities to dwellers of Sialkot.
The Punjab government and Asian Development Bank (ADB) had allocated Rs 36 billion for the development of Sialkot, he disclosed.
The Minister said that under the programme problems pertaining to drinking water and sewerage would be resolved adding that Solid Waste Management would be tracked on modern lines.
Apart from this the parks would be upgraded for recreation facilities the people while special attention would also be focused on upgrading the means of communication in Sialkot the Minister added.
The Provincial Minister stated this while addressing a meeting of Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement programme held here last evening. Akhlaq further stared that work on the projects would be carried out.
On this occasion the Minister directed the concerned high ups that under the programme infrastructure of international standard and proved durable in fast changing environmental conditions.
