Approximately 40,000 liters of diesel spilled out of an oil tanker when it overturned on the Indus Highway in the vicinity of Kot Chutta, a subdivision of Dera Ghazi Khan District, on Sunday morning. A driver and a helper got injured in the accident that occurred due to careless driving, according to initial information available with the media.
Traffic on a portion of the highway remained suspended for several hours as rescue officials rushed and began clearance activities. They also immediately informed police of the incident. Police officers claimed that the accident happened because the driver of the oil tanker was feeling sleepy. The injured persons were taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
