SRO 121 termed major hurdle in GITTA train service

Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, Deputy Convener of Pakistan Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) for Pakistan Railways (PR) and Member Advisory Committee PR has said that SRO 121 is the biggest hurdle in the transportation of transit goods from Karachi to Peshawar and Karachi to Chaman through railways, said a press issued here on Sunday.

The SRO does not allow Pakistan Railways to carry loose cargo from Karachi to Peshawar and Karachi to Chaman and only solution to allow Pakistan Railways to operate the service on these routes requires is either to review or abolish it.

He expressed these views while talking to Divisional Superintendent (DS) Pakistan Railways, M Nasir Khalili here in Railways Divisional Office, the other day. Beside, general secretary, Transit Trades Association (TTA), Farooq Ahmad, Divisional Transportation Officer (DTO), Anwar Saadat Marwat, Assistant Transportation Officer (ATO), Sabba Jabeen and Additional Director, Transit Trade, Jehand Bahadar also participated in the meeting.
