(Karachi) A shopkeeper has been arrested for selling plastic eggs in Karachi’s Defence area, a local news channel reported on Monday.

Sindh Food Authority officials said that they received a complaint from Nawab Wassan, a resident of Defence Phase 6, who accused the shopkeeper in his locality of selling eggs made of plastic.

Wassan said that he sent his servant to the local shop to purchase two dozen eggs. He added when they fried the eggs, they turned into plastic.

On his complaint, the Sindh Food Authority along with Darakhshan police team, immediately raided the spot and nabbed the shop owner identified as Jameel. The food authority team also confiscated 20 fake eggs from his possession.
