Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) on Monday placed a list of demands before Prime Minister Imran Khan, which the party said was the basis for joining Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led federal government. MQM-P presented the demands to Prime Minister when a delegation of the party led by its Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui called on him at Governor House.
MQM-P delegation appraised Prime Minister about the demands of the party related to urban development, Hyderabad University, sealed offices of party, arrested workers of the party etc. MQM delegation told premier that party joined coalition government in centre on these demands, which have not been fulfilled so far.
Party also requested Prime Minister to issue directives for speeding up the urban development under Karachi Package as well as for establishment of Hyderabad University. Talking to media after meeting with Prime Minister, Dr Siddiqui said that party delegation discussed with him about the missing workers of MQM-P as well as the release of those, who have been arrested over the last few years.
"We also reminded Prime Minister about 200 sealed offices of the party," Siddiqui said and told him that opening of party offices was one of the demands for joining PTI-led federal government. He also talked about Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government in Sindh and held the view that eleven years rule of the party in the province is testimony to the fact that there is no use of talking with it for the resolution of issues confronting urban centres of Sindh.
