Partly Facetious Government narrative no longer compelling

24 Oct, 2019

"Why is it that once in government the narrative is no longer that compelling?"

"Wow, you should be in the diplomatic service, now let's see which station is vacant - Maleeha Lodhi is fired and..."

"And her replacement already announced. The Khan doesn't waste time in announcing his appointment decisions."

"I have it on good authority that the de-appointment of Maleeha Lodhi and the sustained appointment of The Buzz represent The Khan's will prevailing."

"What an inane comment."

"Sorry that's just a report, unconfirmed report, anyway when I said once in government the narrative is no longer compelling I was referring to statements that the Maulana's proposed Azadi march is taking away world attention from the Kashmir issue and..."

"It's true, open any channel and you have debates on the Azadi march."

"Only on domestic television, outside the country the world has moved on, I mean the world's media was unlikely to remain focused on Kashmir given the plethora of momentous world events, wait let me name a few, you have President Trump's impeachment, I mean nothing beats that, then you have Boris Johnson with his minority government who has been struggling in parliament like his predecessor, hell he can't even call an election because the parliament is blocking him, then you have the Catalan separatist movement with Spain doing an India if you know what I mean, then wait , there is the Chile and the Hong Kong protests and I haven't even come towards the Burmese Muslims and the Middle East yet..."

"Agreed, and I can't imagine the Western media covering The Maulana's march. I reckon the best way to stop the march is to send Afridi's Anti-Narcotic Force to arrest him and..."

"And he can sleep on the floor with Rana Sanaullah."

"Seriously I am not being facetious, I mean choking the capital with containers..."

"See you accept some and you reject some, that's The Khan we love."

"What?"

"He rejected the trend of wearing Western suits when abroad and reading out prepared speeches like Zardari sahib and Nawaz Sharif used to, he speaks extempore....and we are all human, we all make mistakes and..."

"But then the speeches are in English like his predecessors and he continues to cut ribbons, feetahs that he used to criticise, and continues to address jalsas like they used to, jalsas that cost the taxpayers when one is the chief executive..."

"You win some you lose some, it's those dratted oldies around him and by oldies I mean those who held cabinet positions with his nemesis and..."

"Old is gold."

"The old proverb comes to mind, when cobwebs are plenty kisses are scarce..."

"Hey cobwebs here doesn't mean old besides you don't use the k word in the Islamic republic."

"I give up."
