The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) on Thursday issued a threat alert across the country, fearing that terrorists attack of ISKP may target proposed Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Azadi march scheduled to start on October 27 and will enter federal capital on October 31.
According to NACTA threat alert no 520, it has been reliably learnt that terrorist organization, ISKP in particular prompted by intelligence agencies are planning to launch terrorist's attacks during the upcoming JUI-F Azadi march in major cities across Pakistan. Likely targets of attack may include the main leadership of political parties, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) personnel and general public.
It says that it has also been learnt that terrorist organizations, especially ISKP, will use Azadi march as a conduit to spread their tentacles and infiltrate into major cities of the country in the grab of Azadi March participants.
The alert says that in the wake of the likely threat and risk to the political parties' leadership, LEAs personnel and general public, extreme vigilance and maximum precautionary measures are warranted so that terrorist/miscreants could not exploit the fragile situation due to the upcoming Azadi march.
