Anushka finally addressed all the speculations surrounding Indian cricket and 'lies' after maintaining her silence o
Actress Anushka Sharma has always been dragged into controversies related to her cricketer husband Virat Kohli. Although, she always refrained from reacting, the actress has now finally decided to put all false accusations against her to rest.
It all came after recent comments made by former Indian cricketer Farokh Engineer about having seen members of the Indian selection committee fetching cups of tea for Anushka during the World Cup matches.
The allegations made by Farokh got on Anushka's nerves, who took to social media to release a statement quashing not just the former cricketer's claims but also several news reports that have been floating since her marriage with Kohli and even since the time when they were dating.
She wrote in a long social media post that she has maintained her silence on such matters for years, and the reason she has decided to break her silence isn’t because this latest incident has upset her, but because she doesn’t want her silence to be mistaken as her weakness.
She further warned everyone that next time someone use her name to discredit someone, or the board or her husband, make sure to provide proofs and facts and keep her out of it. She set the record straight by ending her statement saying she doesn’t drink tea and prefers coffee.

Reacting to Anushka’s post, Farokh said he made those comments in jest, adding that his statements were directed at the Indian selectors and not Anushka. "I just said it in a jest and it's being made a mountain out of a molehill," Farokh was quoted by Republic TV.
"Poor Anushka has been dragged into it, she is a lovely girl. Virat Kohli is a brilliant captain and coach Ravi Shastri is extremely good. The entire matter is being blown up unnecessarily. It turned out to be a selector as he was wearing an all India blazer," he added.
