The new logo looks like a wave which includes a similar Fluent Design style to the company’s new Office icons. It also spells out the letter ‘e’ but it no longer looks similar to old Internet Explorer, and looks more futuristic. The new logo was unveiled by Microsoft employees, which was hidden behind a series of puzzles and clues. As per Techrader, the new and improved Edge browser has been built from the ground up – using the same Chromium foundation as Google Chrome, which would make it more appealing to both end users and web developers. Microsoft is clearly breaking from tradition here with its move to a Chromium version of Edge, and it will be interesting to hear the company’s views behind this new design. The Verge also pointed out that the company is holding its Ignite conference in Orlando on November 4. That may be an ideal venue to formally launch a browser.
