Chairman, Karachi Wholesale Grocers Association's (KWGA), Malik Zulfiqar and Patron-in-Chief, Anis Majeed have expressed concern on increasing extortion cases in the largest wholesale market of Karachi, Jodia Bazar and surrounding areas. They urged the Chief Minister Sindh, IG Sindh and the Karachi Police Chief to take severe action in controlling this increasing threat.
They said that once again these extortionists are active in the market, that caused uncertainty among businessmen in the market.
These extortionists are harassing businessman without any fear and in case if any trader refuses to pay, he is threatened for the death.
He said that providing safe and secure environment to businessman is government's responsibility, hence government should take strict action against these extortionists and provide secure environment to the business community so that they can focus on business, which is currently suffering from economic turmoil and bearish markets.
Currently, the business is suffering from losses and in this state the extortionist are active again which is highly damaging for the business actinities.
Anis Majeed and Malik Zulfiqar said that after operation in Karachi, business community was relieved from the extortionists and target killers but once again we are watching them being active again. They urged the Sindh government and law enforcement agencies to curb these external factors else it will become a very difficult for businessmen to carry out any business activities.
