A complaint has been filed against Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker for using swear words against a four-year-old on a comedy chat show 'Son of Abish'.
Non-governmental organisation Legal Rights Protection Forum has reportedly filed a complaint with the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights and has asked for appropriate action against Swara.
The complaint read, “One could immediately sense the underlying implicit and unconscious bias in this supposedly ‘funny’ video that too from a person who is widely regarded as popular by a section of the Indian Media. Such usage of words denigrating language of the innocent Kids of the Southern Part of India spread wrong precedent across India portraying them in a negative picture”.
The complaint further reads, “It also creates negative impact on the children where families of different communities/Places/Regions are living together & in this modern society. These type of statements/comments/dialogues are a serious threat to our National Integrity,” Bollywood Life reported.
Swara has been facing severe criticism from the fans after she used swear words for the child artist while recalling her early days in media industry. In the video clip, Swara was seen abusing the child for addressing her ‘aunty’ years ago when at the sets of a shoot. She spoke about being disappointed with the shoot and added that the kid calling her ‘aunty’ only made her angrier. However, according to Swara, she did not abuse the kid to his face but only said the abusive words for the kid in her thoughts. She added that children are basically evil.
