Federal Government released Rs 393 million for various education projects in Karachi in the first four months of current financial year against the allocated funds in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2019-20.
According to the data released for the projects in PSDP 2019-20, federal government released Rs 60 million so far for the Construction of hostel and Academic Infrastructure at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law against the allocated amount of Rs 150 million in the current financial year. The total cost of the project is Rs 758.6 million. "Establishment of National Facility for Laboratory Animal Research and Care, HEJ, University of Karachi" project received full allocated amount in the first four months of the current financial year. Government approved this project at the total cost of Rs 308.3 million.
"Development of Sindh Madrasatul Islam (SMIU) Campus at Education city, Malir" project received Rs 80 million so far out of allocated amount of Rs 200 million in the current fiscal year. The total cost of the project is Rs 1.575 billion. "Improvement of academic facilities at University of Karachi" project received Rs 100 million so far out of Rs 250 million allocated in the current financial year. The total cost of the project is Rs 1.680 billion.
Government released Rs 80 million out of allocated amount of Rs 200 million for Strengthening of Academic and Research Program at Bahria University, Karachi along with Bahria University Islamabad. The project was approved at the cost of Rs 1.446 billion. Government also released Rs 53.5 million for Strengthening of Dawood University of Engineering & Technology. A total Rs 133.8 million allocated in the current financial year for the project, which was approved at the total cost of Rs 578 million.
Federal Government didn't release a single penny for the allocated fund of Rs 25 million for Establishment of FG Degree College Malir Cantt, whose total cost stands at Rs 234.9 million.
