The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved its verdict against Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Imran Khan on Information and Broadcasting (SAPM) Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan in the contempt of court cases.
The case proceedings were headed by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah on Thursday in which both the SAPM and Sarwar appeared. The IHC has reserved its verdict in both the cases and will announce the judgment on November 25.
During the hearing, the chief justice of the high court said that Sarwar was a representative of the federal cabinet and raised questions on the medical board constituted by the government for Nawaz Sharif. The minister replied that he had only expressed doubts about the medical board, local media reported.
Justice Minallah said that by his statement, Sarwar tried to make people lose confidence in institutions and government . Sarwar offered an unconditional apology to the court. However, the IHC directed him to submit his reply. The aviation minister replied that he does not want to contest this case that is why he is offering an unconditional apology.
In the last hearing, the court had decided to club the petition against Sarwar with contempt proceedings against Awan.
