Pakistan condemned on Friday the killing of unarmed and innocent Palestinians in military strikes by the occupying Israeli forces.
In a press release by the Foreign Office (FO), Pakistan called for the international community to take cognizance of the aggressive actions, 'which are in violation of international law and international humanitarian law'.
“Pakistan believes that a permanent solution of the Palestinian issue lies in the establishment of a viable, independent and contiguous state of Palestine, on the basis of internationally agreed parameters, the pre-1967 borders and with Al-Quds Al Sharif as its Capital," the FO statement read.
On Tuesday, surge in fighting around the Palestinian enclave was sparked when Israel killed Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), Baha Abu al-Ata and his wife was killed in an Israeli air strike. The Israeli prime minister accused al-Ata of masterminding a spree of recent attacks and planning more soon.
As Islamic Jihad fighters responded with hundreds of rocket launches that reached as far as Tel Aviv and paralyzed parts of Israel. Several waves of air strikes were also carried out on Gaza in the past two days of violence. Over 34 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli air raids over the Gaza Strip.
