Egypt buys 465,000 tonnes of wheat

Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC,) said on Thursday it had bought 465,000 tonnes of wheat in an international purchase tender for shipment January 5-15. GASC said the purchase comprised of 120,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat and 345,000 tonnes of Russian wheat.

Traders gave the following breakdown of the purchase in dollars per tonne. Louis Dreyfus: 60,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat at $217.70 and $14.65 freight equating to $232.35. Hakan: 60,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat at $215.63 and $16.72 freight equating to $232.35. Posco International: 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $218.88 and $13.47 freight equating to $232.35.

Grain Export: 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $218.88 and $13.47 freight equating to $232.35. Grain Export: 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $218.88 and $13.47 freight equating to $232.35. ADM: 55,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $217.83 and $14.52 freight equating to $232.35.
