The Punjab Assembly on Monday passed The Punjab Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill 2019, The Punjab Zakat and Usher (Amendment) Bill 2019, and The Punjab Seized and Freezed Institution (Madaaris and Schools) Bill 2019 taking advantage of the boycott by the opposition.
The opposition started protest in the House when they were not allowed by the Speaker to speak on the motion to give extension to ordinances. The session was attended by opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif.
The Assembly gave extension to the ordinances for 90 which include Resolution For The Extension of The Rawalpindi Women University, Rawalpindi Ordinance 2019, Resolution for the Extension of the University of Mianwali Ordinance 2019, Resolution For Extension of the Punjab Public Private Partnership Ordinance 2019, Resolution for Extension of the Punjab Medical Teaching Institution (Reforms) Ordinance 2019 and the Resolution for the Extension of the Punjab Probation and Parole Services Ordinance 2019.
The Punjab government also laid The Punjab Agriculture Marketing Regulatory Authority Bill (Amendment) Ordinance 2019, The Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Ordinance 2019 and The Punjab Village Panchayats and Neighbourhood Councils (Amendment) Ordinance 2019. The Punjab Technical and Vocational Training Authority (Amendment) Bill 2019 and The Companies Profits (Workers Participation) (Amendment) Bill 2019 were introduced in the House.
While speaking on the point of order PML-N MPA Sami ullah Khan said that government is running on ordinances. He said that government has turned Punjab Assembly into 'Insaf Ordinance Factory'.
While responding to Sami ullah Khan Punjab Law Minister; Raja Basharat said that all the ordinances presented in the House were according to law. He also said that that government is not doing any illegal legislation.
While speaking on the point of order PML (N) MPA Khalil Tahir Sindhu said that government should restore the name of Waris Mir Under Pass. Earlier during the question hour on Forestry, Wild Life and Fisheries Department Parliamentary Secretary Makhdoom Raza Bukhari failed to give satisfactory answers of the questions.
