Punjab CM unhappy over failure in overcoming price hike

Expressing strong indignation over failure in taking effective steps for overcoming price hike, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced that he will personally check the rates of different commodities and also asked the officers to go to the field and monitor the auction process in grain markets so as to ensure maintenance of prices.

Chairing a meeting of provincial taskforce on price control at his office, here Tuesday, the CM directed to take strict legal action against the elements involved in price hike and made it clear that lip-service will not work anymore. Giving relief to the masses is our joint responsibility; he said, adding: "Every step should be taken to stabilize the rates of vegetables."

The chief minister enquired the rates of different items from Commissioners through the video link. He expressed displeasure over failure in complete control over price hike and directed to take immediate steps in the right direction.

Provincial ministers Mian Aslam Iqbal, Samiullah Chaudhry, administrative secretaries and others attended the meeting while Commissioners and DCs participated through the video link.

Talking to members of the provincial assembly from different districts, the CM said that a coordinated strategy has been devised to solve the problems being faced by the people. He regretted that public money was wasted on exhibitory projects in the past and added that the PTI government has eliminated such wrong traditions. He added that public money will be spent only on the welfare of the people and every step will be taken to provide relief to the general public.

The legislators apprised the CM about problems and development schemes of their respective constituencies. The chief minister issued instructions to the concerned officials for the solution of problems.
