Chicago Board of Trade soyabean futures closed modestly higher on Tuesday on technical buying, a sluggish US harvest pace and spillover strength from wheat and corn, traders said.
CBOT January soyabeans settled 1-1/4 cents at $9.11-1/2, finding chart support at Monday's seven-week low of $9.10. CBOT December soyameal ended up 80 cents at $302 per short ton and stayed inside of Monday's trading range.
CBOT December soyaoil rose 0.32 cent to settle at 30.96 cents per pound after reaching 31.24 cents, a one-week high.
The US Department of Agriculture late Monday said the US soyabean harvest was 91% finished, matching an average of trade expectations but below the five-year average of 95%.
