Sindh Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department has decided to upgrade the existing check-posts and construct Malkhanas adjacent to excise police station across the province. The decision was made at a meeting presided by Sindh E&T minister Wednesday.
DG Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said a considerable time had gone and the existing check-posts needed to be constructed on modern lines, hence it has been decided to construct and maintain check posts on modern lines.
Furthermore, he said that Sindh Excise Department has also planned to construct Malkhanas with excise police stations to keep confiscated goods properly in the custody. The estimated cost of the said project is Rs. 74.699 million.
Meanwhile, Sindh excise minister appreciated the move saying that the decision to transform excise check-posts on modern lines was the need of the hour as it would help the department perform more efficiently. Secretary Excise and Taxation & Narcotics Control, Abdul Haleem Shaikh and others also attended the meeting.
