Partly Facetious: PM against giving a clean chit

Updated 22 Nov, 2019

"Was The Khan out of order when he said what he said recently in anger?"

"He is against giving a clean chit, read NRO, to the leaders of the two national parties. And no one, but no one, not Nawaz Sharif and not Zardari sahib, can accuse The Khan of corruption."

"Maryam Aurangzeb said he should be frisked for money laundering and mentioned his ex-wives though what their finances have to do with The Khan is beyond me..."

"I am not sure about party funds, that verdict is pending, but no one, not even those who abhor him, can possibly believe in their heart of hearts that he has wealth that he did not earn or legitimately inherit."

"I agree, but anyway I asked if he was out of order or...or..."

"In order?"

"I am not sure that phrase can be used when our politicians speak publicly, and especially when they are angry."

"OK, but I would urge the Prime Minister to heed the winds of change."

"The Chaudhrys are back in the fold as are the MQM parliamentarians, and let me assure you that The Khan remains the only viable leader of the house today - the Nawalas and the Zardis and the Maulanas and the Khanzadehs too ain't gonna agree on anyone for an in-house change."

"And if elections are held?"

"A hung parliament with coalitions again required to form a government. But I was listening to Babar Awan yesterday?"

"That's Doctor Babar Awan to you."

"That will be true once all doctorate degrees issued by Monticello are legalised retrospectively (at least till 1997-98 to be precise)..."

"But the United States Educational Foundation (USEF) in Pakistan confirmed that Monticello was never allowed to offer degree programmes, including PhDs...and wait a second, in April 2000, Monticello operator Leslie Snell was found guilty in Hawaii and Kansas of issuing invalid degrees without state authority and was fined in excess of $1.7 million; and the organisation was ordered to refund tuition to all the students."

"Babar Awan angered Zardari sahib once he refused to say anything against the judiciary!? Now I was listening to him on television yesterday and I reckon he did the same to The Khan."

"The Khan is not a Zardari who took two to three days to understand why Babar Awan was no longer available to him - The Khan will take a lot longer."

"Anyone who will take a lesson from history, collective and individual, and..."

"Not if you occupy the position of chief executive - past or present. May I make a prediction?"

"Ok."

"I reckon the south of Punjab will become an issue again, what with recent changes in the cabinet."

"Ha ha ha."
