Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said on Thursday that by the end of this year one million people are likely to get jobless due to wrong economic policies of the PTI-led coalition government.
While talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly, Hamza said by blaming the institutions the government cannot get away with its responsibilities.
He said the government could not perform anything substantial notwithstanding that it put all opposition leaders behind the bar. The opposition had offered the government to sign a charter of economy but it did not show any seriousness.
He said had the government fulfilled 25 percent of promises it made with the nation he would have openly appreciated it.
The Opposition leader said that every segment of the society including businessmen, students and people doing white collar jobs are not happy with the government which failed to control the prices of day use items such as medicines, fruits and vegetables. Hamza thanked the people of Pakistan for praying for early recovery of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
He said it was due to the prayers of the people of Pakistan that Nawaz Sharif was allowed to send abroad for treatment.
Earlier, the session of the Punjab Assembly started 1 hour 38 minutes late. The answers of the questions relating to industries, commerce and investment were given by provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal.
Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi gave his suggestion that fees of Chinese language courses run by Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority institutes should be Rs 1000 instead of Rs 2000. He said it is difficult for the people to pay Rs 2000 per month when inflation was at its peak in the country.
