National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Director General Lahore Shahzad Saleem has ordered to seize all industrial properties belonging to the family members of the Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif in "assets beyond means case".
The anti-graft watchdog has also directed the authorities concerned including the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to take immediate steps in this regard. Through different orders issued on Monday, the properties that NAB has ordered to freeze include Chiniot Power Limited, Ramazan Energy Limited, Al-Arabia Sugar Mills, Crystal Plastics Private Limited, Sharif Dairy Farms Private Limited and Sharif Poultry Farms Private Limited.
As per the orders, the members of the Sharif family including Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz, Sulaiman Shahbaz and Nusrat Shahbaz will not be able to receive any benefit from the aforementioned industries following the NAB action.
The orders said that members of the Sharif family and their financial advisers were also given the copies of the directives.
In July, the NAB had ordered to freeze all moveable and immoveable assets belonging to Shahbaz and his family members. In separate letters written to various departments including excise and taxation, revenue and district governments, the anti-corruption watchdog had banned sale, purchase and transfer of all properties belonging to Shahbaz Sharif and his family members including Tehmina Durrani.
