Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday suspended the membership of its senior leader Hamid Khan and slapped him with a show-cause notice for speaking against the party policy.
The notice issued by PTI secretary general Aamer Mehmood Kiayani said that Khan violated party discipline and the party constitution. It said that Khan made fake, false and frivolous allegations against the party, which has hurt the sentiments of the party leadership and its workers.
Khan was directed to explain his position in writing within seven days. "In the meanwhile, till the final decision of your instant inquiry, your basic membership of party shall remain suspended with immediate effect," read the notice.
