The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Port Muhammad Bin Qasim (PMBQ), Karachi achieved its total revenue target for the month of November, 2019. The total collection for November, 2019 stood at Rs 53.97 billion as against the monthly target of Rs 52.91 billion, which is 102% of the assigned target and 22.91% higher than the Rs. 43.91 billion collection of November, 2018.
The Customs Duty Collection in November, 2019 registered an increase of 13.89%, amounting to Rs.17.18 billion as compared to the collection of Rs.15.08 billion in November, 2018. Similarly, in the same period Sales Tax collection increased from Rs 23.30 billion to Rs 30.86 billion, Federal Excise Duty from Rs 478.16 million to Rs 654.41million and Income Tax from Rs 5.05 billion to Rs 5.39 billion.
Mumtaz Ali Khoso, the Collector of Customs, has attributed this impressive revenue performance of the Collectorate to the leadership of Syed Mohammad Shabbar Zaidi, Chairman FBR, Dr Jawwad Uwais Agha, Member (Customs Operations) and Suraiya Ahmed Butt, Chief Collector (Appraisement-South), Karachi. He also appreciated the contributions of his team and reiterated the resolve to achieve the revenue target for the financial year.
