Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) Punjab branch conducted two days 'Advance First Aid Training' for mediamen at a local hotel in which Journalists from electronic and print media all across the province of Punjab participated.
The participants were given briefing and practical demonstration on handling different emergency situations like heart attack, burning, shock, bleeding, fracture and how to give CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation).
Pakistan Red Crescent Punjab Chairman former Justice Sheikh Ahmed Farooq, while addressing the participants, said that in case of any emergency journalists reach first at the spot to cover the incident and if journalists are well trained with First Aid they can save life of any injured person along with their professional duty and it is also good for their own safety too.
He said that Pakistan Red Crescent is currently running largest program of First Aid in the country apart from provision of blood to the needy patients free of cost. He requested the philanthropists to help PRC Punjab for extending free medical facilities to the needy patients at its hospital at Deena Nath.
At the end of the training session Chairman PRC Punjab distributed certificates among the participants.
Chief information Commissioner Punjab Mehboob Qadir, PRC Punjab Mohammad Zahid, Manager Training & Development Mohammad Imran, Manager Communication and Coordination Ali Raza were also present.
