The Institute of Business Management Sciences, University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Thursday arranged entrepreneurship exhibition at the institute in which students presented their different business models.
The expo was inaugurated by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf who was flanked by Dean Social Sciences Dr Mehmood A Randhawa, Director IBMS Dr Khalid Mushtaq, Director Procurement Umar Saeed, Dr Amir Jamil, Dr Habib Gaba, Dr Rasheed Ahmad, Director Horticulture Dr Ayub Ch, Chief Hall Warden Dr Muhammad Yaseen and other notables.
The students presented their different plans of food.
Dr Muhammad Ashraf said that innovation acts lifeblood of economy and termed it as the key ingredient behind its sustainable progress and prosperity. He said that the students should develop entrepreneurial skills among them so that they can become the job provider rather than job seeker. He stressed upon the need to come up with out-of-the-box ideas to excel in their practical life.
He said, "We have to provide the platform to the students to commercialize their innovative ideas with strong academia-industry linkages. He said that sixty percent of our population comprised the youth. He said that if we sharpen their God-given skills keeping the challenges of the modern world in view, we would be able to compete with the rest of the world."
Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Dr Mehmood A Randhwa called for strengthening industry-academia linkages and promoting innovative approaches. He added that the university was working on producing entrepreneurial skills in the students so that they can become good entrepreneurs.
Dr Khalid Mushtaq said that all possible measures were being taken to provide the quality education and to sharpen the skills of business among the students. Chamber of Commerce Faisalabad President Rana Sikander Azam also participated. He urged the students to promote their business skills to flourish.
