Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that opposition's dream of in-house change will remain mere a dream. "Opposition should show patience and wait for next general election till year 2023. For the first time in Pakistan, supremacy of the law and constitution is being ensured," the Governor said. "Even an inch of land including religious places in Punjab will not be let grabbed by anyone."
Speaking at a dinner hosted by UK-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce, the Governor said when the PTI came into power; it was talk of the town that Pakistan was at the verge of bankruptcy. To tackle with the situation, the PTI government had put in order timely and effective measures which resulted in economic stability in the country.
International financial institutions and global community is also talking of and acknowledging Pakistan's economic achievements and stability. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan had taken tough decisions due to which Pakistan is getting stronger economically, he said. The government is committed to take along business community regarding all economic decisions/policies. Federal and Punjab governments are working actively to resolves problems such as price-hike and unemployment in the country, he added.
The Governor said that people had given a five-year mandate to PTI under the leadership of Imran Khan. The government is not afraid of opposition's threat and next general election will be held as per it schedule. He advised the opposition to wait for general election instead of coming up with new political intrigues in and out of the parliament. The people through their power of vote in general election 2023 will decide with whom they are standing.
