Sona Welfare Foundation (SWF) as the implementing partner for Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance in efforts to financially support and empower the marginalized communities.

The five-year project is targeted at developing Sona Model Village in Mirpur Mathelo, focusing on social mobilization and development interventions by providing interest-free loans to the marginalized segments in order to make them self-reliant by starting or expanding small scale businesses.

The project will be in the true spirit of Corporate Social Responsibility in adherence to the Sustainable Development Goals as delineated by United Nations, which serve as a guideline for efforts in premise of rural development, social guidance and community mobilization.-PR
