Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed that selection of international company for revival of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) should be done in a transparent way.
The Prime Minister stated this while chairing a meeting on revival of PSM, which was attended by Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Asad Umar, Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro, Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Advisor on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood and Advisor on Institutional Reforms Dr Ishrat Hussain.
The meeting discussed matters pertaining to revival of PSM and the Prime Minister was informed that various international firms have expressed interests in the revival of PSM.
This has been the second meeting on PSM revival by the Prime Minister as on Monday last, the Premier held a meeting with his economic team with the agenda of revival of the PSM and Federal Board of Revenue's (FBR) pending tax related cases in the courts as well as discussed matter of remittances. The Prime Minister is said to have asked his economic team to fasten the process for revival of PSM.
