Four fresh polio cases have reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raising the total count of polio cases so far in 2019 to 72 in the province and 98 in the whole country respectively.
According to a press release issued by Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) Khyber Pakhutnkhwa here on Thursday stated that three children belonging from tehsil Sahar noor rang of southern district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Lakki Marwat, while a 12 year old girl from Tank district confirmed polio virus.
The two girls belonging from Lakki Marwat aging 11 years each and on child of three month old was also confirmed the polio virus. The stool samples of all children had dispatched to laboratory in National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad, wherein the polio virus confirmed.
After the confirming four new cases, the polio cases have so far increased in 2019 to 72 in the province and 98 in the whole country respectively.
While chairing a meeting by Emergency Operation Centre Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Coordinator, Abdul Basit stressed the access of polio drops to every children is essential to complete eliminate polio and free the country from this disease forever.
He informed that an anti-polio campaign will be launched from December 16 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so he urged the parents to cooperate fully with polio teams and administrate polio drops to their children to protect them from lift time disability.
Abdul Basit said that the polio can be completely eliminated until every child would have access to polio drops.
