Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) on Friday claimed to have served notices to some twelve hotels and restaurants including five-star hotels situated in district south of the city.
SEPA officials said the environment agency asked them to submit details of their solid waste management, disposal of wastewater, environmental approvals and report of their generators emissions for review and further necessary action on them.
They were also informed that a team of SEPA will visit their establishment for the purpose of their environmental monitoring. They were also asked to nominate an appropriate official for further coordination with SEPA's team.
They said under Sindh Environmental Protection Act 2014 SEPA may ask any commercial or non-commercial entity to provide information regarding their environmental affairs to ensure their compliance with all mandatory environmental standards.
