The third edition of National Para Taekwondo Championship concluded here at National Coaching Center in Karachi on Sunday where over 150 athletes from across the country participated. Patron-in-Chief Pakistan Para Taekwondo Wing of Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) Zeeshan Altaf Lohya organized the event for the first time in Sindh with technical support from Grand Master Najam Khan. The previous two editions were held in Punjab.
Sindh secured first position with 12 gold medals followed by Punjab won five while Balochistan secured three gold medals to claim second third position respectively.
Advisor to CM Sindh Qasim Naveed Qamar was the chief guest during the opening ceremony while Head of HMR Group Haji Rafiq Pardesi, Chairman Special Education Committee of FPCCI Mohammad Amaan Pir and America Pakistan Business Development Forum officials were also present on the occasion.
Later Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani, Afghanistan Consul General in Karachi Rahimullah Qatra, Zeeshan Lohya and KFC Pakistan Brand Manager Danish Wali and others were in attendance during the closing ceremony of the championship.
The guests assured their full support in future as well in holding events for children with special needs. They also added that they would also make effort to send these players to feature in international events abroad.
The parents and others family members were also present on the occasion in large numbers. They praised the organizers for arranging such a successful event for their children. They said that such events help persons with special needs feel that they are being loved and are integral part of the society.
