GSK chief reviews company's supply chain network in Karachi

Regis Simard, President, GSK Pharmaceutical Supply Chain (PSC), and member of the Corporate Executive Team, recently visited Pakistan to review Company's supply chain network. The purpose of his visit was to review the 3 manufacturing facilities located in Karachi and to roll out the PSC ambitions for 2020.

Simard, who leads an organisation of 18,000 employees, is responsible for the manufacturing and supply of all GSK pharmaceutical products, including innovative new medicines. Additionally, he leads Quality and Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHSS) at the corporate level.

GSK, a long-time investor in Pakistan, is the largest pharmaceutical company in the country. Its legacy company Glaxo Laboratories was the first pharmaceutical company to be listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange in 1951. In Pakistan, GSK manufacturers 408 million packs of medicines across 3 state-of-the-art facilities located at F-268 Site, Korangi and West Wharf, including many critical and life-saving drugs.

While summing up his experience in Pakistan, Simard said, "I am delighted to have had the opportunity to visit Pakistan and interact with the teams running our best in class manufacturing facilities, an important cog in the Pharma Supply Chain network. It has been a pleasure to see the dedication and resolve which fuels their commitment to provide quality medicines and healthcare solutions to the people of Pakistan.
