The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DGISPR) Asif Ghafoor termed the recent statement by Indian Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat an effort to divert world's attention from the widespread protests in India over the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).

In a tweet from the official twitter handle on Thursday, the DG ISPR said that these statements by the Indian COAS is an effort as usual to divert world's attention from wide spread protests in India against CAB. "Pakistan Armed Forces shall befittingly respond to any Indian misadventure or aggression," the DG ISPR warned.

Rawat in a statement on Wednesday said situation along the Line of Control can escalate any time. He added the Indian Army is maintaining a high level of operational readiness, with detailed plans chalked out to cater for different contingencies, Times of India reported.
