Despite drop in sales Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd (PSMCL) has jacked up prices of several of its models. The price of Suzuki’s Alto VXR raised by a whooping Rs90,000 witnessing a surge of 6.88 percent, the vehicle is now priced at Rs1,398,000 as compared to the previous rate of Rs1,308,000. The Alto VXL AGS is now available at Rs1,598,000 as compared to previous rate of Rs1,518,000. Suzuki’s Swift DLX NAVI and Swift AT NAVI raised prices by Rs90,000 as well, and now come with a new price tag of Rs1,995,000 and Rs2,140,000, respectively. The evergreen Suzuki Ravi will now be just under a million rupees at Rs999,000, witnessing a price rise by Rs58,000. Whereas, Bolan and Bolan Cargo price tag surged by Rs49,000 and Rs50,000, and are now available at Rs1,099,000 and Rs1,040,000, respectively. Coming to the Wagon R’s, the Suzuki Wagon R VXR version would now cost Rs1,605,000 as compared to old price of Rs1,540,000, whereas, Wagon R VXL version is now available at Rs1,695,000, an increase of Rs70,000. The sale and production of cars dipped by 44.06 percent and 43.34 percent respectively during first four months of financial year 2019-20 compared to corresponding period of last year, according to data of Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA). During the period under review, as many as 40,586 cars were sold against the sale of 72,563 units while the production of cars decreased from 80,741 units to 45,745 units, showing negative growth of 44.06 and 43.34 percent respectively.
