In a high level meeting held with Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Raja Muhammad Basharat in the chair, here on Friday, security arrangements for Christmas, Quaid-e-Azam Day and New Year's celebrations were reviewed in detail.
Provincial Ministers Taimoor Ahmed Khan, Rao Hashim Dogar, Chief Secretary Major Azam Suleman (Retd), IG Punjab Shoaib Dastagir, Commissioner Lahore Division, Additional IG Special Branch, Additional IGCTD, CCPO, DIG Operations and other related officers also attended the meeting.
The rest of the divisional commissioners and RPOs participated through video conference.
Addressing the meeting, Law Minister said that on December 25, special arrangements should be made for the security of the churches and educational institutions, the district administration should regularly check the swings of amusement parks during these days besides taking NOCs from respective authorities.
He directed to ensure traffic management in big cities, especially Murree.
The district administration should also be in close contact with the local public representatives, civil society, businessmen and religious leaders, and strict security of major hotels and important public places is also needed on the occasion of the New Year.
The CS directed that apart from overall security arrangements, the Christian settlements and cemeteries should also be closely monitored.
"The cameras and security equipment installed at the entrance of all sensitive places should be checked and repaired, if needed." he added.
The IG, while briefing, said that on December 25, more than 1,000 events will be held in the province for which 15,400 personnel will be deployed.
