Punjab Minister for Excise and Taxation/In-charge Anti-Polio Campaign Faisalabad Division Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmad visited District Chiniot to review the implementation of the ongoing anti polio campaign. He checked the vaccination record of polio teams at different transits points and also inspected the immunization process.
Provincial Minister interacted with parents and asked them about their vaccinated children and also vaccinated some child themselves. On this occasion, talking to the media men, Punjab Minister for Excise said that Polio-free Pakistan was the forefront of our mission and for eradication of this virus was priority of present govt. He said that all possible resources were being used to give children a safe and healthy future.
He said that Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar had appointed him in-charge of the anti-polio campaign in Faisalabad Division and during the last four days he had visited all the districts of Faisalabad division including Chiniot district and reviewed the campaign's targets and he had also checked the implementation on the anti-polio campaign in the field. Minister said that it was the collective responsibility of society to take effective measures to eradicate polio, and the cooperation of parents, scholars, teachers and all segments of society to make every polio campaign successful could not be ignored. He said that District Administrations, Health Authorities and other auxiliary departments of the four districts had been working diligently and responsibilities in the ongoing anti-polio campaign and a major and important national anti-polio campaign would be made successful. He said that there is no other option but to win the battle against polio, and with the special grace of Almighty Allah, the goal of eliminating polio was very near now. He thanked the media persons for responsible reporting during the NIDs. Earlier Punjab Minister for Excise Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmad presided over the meeting in DC Office Chiniot and reviewed the targets of Anti Polio Campaign.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Riaz said during the briefing that the district had a target of immunizing 2,48,286 children up to five years of age during anti-polio campaign and 603 team members were doing duty in this campaign. He informed that during the last three days, 233,915 children have been vaccinated, while for some reason the missing children would be vaccinated in catch up days and district administration had determined to achieve vaccination goals. He said that strict monitoring of the campaign was underway and officers of various departments have also been appointed as special supervisors for monitoring.
Provincial Minister expressed satisfaction over the progress of the campaign and directed that on the last day of the campaign must vaccinated the absent children from houses and went home from home to confirm either all children had vaccinated. He said that Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar were trying to make Pakistan polio-free, so the efforts by the health department should not be underestimated.
DPO Syed Hussain Haider said that security plan for Polio teams were implemented in letter and spirit. CEO DHA Dr. Mushtaq Bashir Aakaf gave briefing on Anti polio Campaign.
