The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted on Monday bail to former finance minister and Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) leader Miftah Ismail in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) import contract case.
A two- judge bench headed by Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard his bail application. Justice Minallah asked how many days it has been since Ismail was granted bail.The NAB prosecutor told the court that Ismail has been granted remand for 49 days till now.
The IHC has directed Ismail to submit surety bonds worth Rs10 million. Ismail was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau on August 7 after the IHC rejected his request for extension in his pre-arrest interim bail.
