Governor Punjab Chuadhry Mohammad Sarwar Wednesday said that with every passing day, Pakistan will continue to advance in the economic field and the Year 2020 will prove to be the year of economic revolution.
Talking to media, here today, the Governor maintained that historic decisions were taken by the present government on economic front which will result in creation of job opportunities. "Our government is following the Prime Minister Imran Khan's slogan of 'Naya Pakistan' and ensuring rule of law and the constitution in the country, besides implementing merit and transparency at all levels," he said, adding: "The institutions have been strengthened through merit and stoppage of political interference."
The Governor maintained that the PTI government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is making Jinnah's Pakistan. "We need to follow Quaid's basic points of Unity, Faith and Discipline to get strengthened and to foil enemies' conspiracies," he said.
"In Sha Allah, we will succeed in establishing Riyasat-e-Madina by overcoming the problems such as injustice, violence and corruption in the society," he said.
Earlier, addressing the 75th annual session of Pakistan Engineering Congress (PEC) at a local hotel, the Governor said that provision of basic facilities like health and education is the mission of PTI government. "Water scarcity is a big challenge for Pakistan and measures are being taken on emergent basis to do away with this problem," he said, adding: "Universities have been tasked to focus on Cloud Technology and Robotics."
Sarwar said that engineers are builders of the nation and they are playing an important role in economic development. He added that Pakistani engineers have not only proved their metal in the country but also in the outer world. "I have told all the universities heads that we need to focus on cloud technology and robotics," he said, adding: "Pakistan is faced with greater challenge of water shortage and today water problem is a matter of country's survival. We are direly in need to bring modern and innovative techniques in agriculture sector."
Today on the birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam, we have to renew our pledge for transforming Pakistan into Quaid's Pakistan. Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had faith in supremacy of the law and justice and today his political sagacity proved that 'Two Nations Theory' was absolutely right, he added.
PEC President Rashid Wattoo, PEC Secretary Najam Waheed and others were also present.
