President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Engr Daroo Khan has adjourned Annual General Meeting (AGM) for one week. According to informed sources at the meeting Secretary General FPCCI Dr Iqbal Thaheem pointed out about short of quorum in the house. Counting was done and after counting the meeting was adjourned for one week.
In this AGM official announcement of result of FPCCI election for the year 2020 was scheduled. As per rulers there is time limit for announcement of result which is within 15 working days of polling.
Talking to Business Recorder, President of FPCCI Engr Daroo Khan said that the office announcement of FPCCI election result was scheduled in this AGM which was adjourned for one week due to short of quorum.
He said initially the meeting was adjourned for half an hour for members to joint the meeting. Later the meeting was adjourned for one week owing to short of quorum. Now the AGM will be held next week, he added.
He alleged rigging in the election. When asked abut FIR, he said that he has lodged an FIR against some unknown persons who attacked on him.
Spokesman of United Business Group (UBG) Gulzar Feroz said that the Balochistan court allowed some of the associations to participate in the election and this has made the real difference in the result.
He said that the result on the seat of senior Vice President was withheld due to 4 votes were sealed and both the candidates Muhammad Hanif Gohar of UBG and Asim Ghani Usman of BMP get equal 172 votes.
He said now the sealed votes will be opined before court for decision.
Secretary General (Federal) of the Businessmen Panel Ch Ahmad Jawad said that BMP won FPCCI election after 6 years. This shows business community is fed up from UBG and its policies, he added.
He said that the members of opposition group congratulated new body and Anum Nisar on his victory.
